Why a Philadelphia horn?
Not only is Philadelphia the epicenter for Freemasonry in Pennsylvania, it is also historically the site of the first powder horn factory in the Americas. At one point the horn factories in and around Philadelphia produced an order of 10,000 horns in the short span of 3 months to supply the continental army leading up to the War of 1812. This is not only a piece of Masonic History but also an heirloom harkening back to a major part of Philadelphia’s history. It is a once in a lifetime chance to own a part of that history.
This beautiful commemorative Philadelphia-style Screw Tip Powder Horn was hand made by Bro. John L. DeWald, Jr. 32° from cow horn.
